NEW for 2014! Ratatouille-themed attraction at Disneyland Paris

Ratatouille at Disneyland Paris!

New Ratatouille-themed attraction for 2014 at Disneyland Paris

New Family Attraction coming to Disneyland® Paris for 2014

During the Euro Disney group’s annual shareholder meeting held at the end of February, it was announced by chairman Philippe Gas that there would be a new addition to the theme park based around the hit Disney/Pixar movie Ratatouille.

Gas said ”Our new family-focused Rataouille attraction, which is scheduled to open in 2014 symobolises all of the creativity, innovation and emotion that guests associate with a Disneyland Paris experience”.

The new attraction is set to open in Walt Disney Studios Park and is part of Disney’s long-term commitment to investing in guest experiences during their stay at the resort.

Although little has been revealed about the attraction, it will take guests into the world of the Oscar-winning Disney/Pixar film Ratatouille. The film tells the story of Remy, a talented young rat who dreams of becoming a famous French chef.

The new attraction has also been described as a tribute to the French capital as well as the unforgettable characters in the film.

Halloween 2012 at Disneyland Paris

Halloween 2012 at Disneyland Paris

From 1st October – 4th November there’s a fantastic Halloween festival happening at Disneyland Paris! And because it’s the 20th Anniversary, there are also some extra special spooky guests!

2012 brings a new Halloween story as Mickey and friends decorate the Park! Central Plaza in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is filled with pumpkins and the ‘Ghosts of Main Street’, who have waited 20 years will come out to play!

It sounds (and looks) amazing! If you want to be there, Disney have just added some fantastic last minute holiday offers for October and early November with up to 30% off many hotel prices!

A Flurry of Disneyland Paris offers!

Whether you’re looking to book early for 2013 or grab a last minute deal to travel in the next few weeks, there’s really never been a better time to book your Disney break.

With so many different offers and great prices flying around, we wanted to try and tell you about as many as we could!

Getting the best price for a Disney holiday is easy enough but if you follow a few simple rules then you’ll be able to save just that little bit more!

Before we look at some of the deals and prices available, here’s a few tips for finding the biggest discounts and/or the lowest prices!

Avoid the Crowds!

If you’re a couple or have pre-school children then where possible stay between Sunday – Thursday as these tend to have the lowest arrival day price.

Check ALL Hotels!

Different levels of discount are applied to different hotels. If there’s a discount of 30% on a 3 or 4* hotel then it might work out the same as the 2* hotel you were originally thinking about.

Check Different Durations!

Often staying 3 or 4 nights will return a bigger discount than a 2 night stay. In some cases you’ll find that with a discount applied, it’s better value (amd more fun!) to stay for that extra night!

If you’re driving…

Consider staying a Davy Crockett Ranch as it’s geared up for guests bringing their car. As well as often having some of the best prices & discounts it’s great for families who would prefer to enjoy Disney on a self catering basis.

Self-Catering Holidays at Disneyland Paris

Having been to Disneyland® Paris on a few occasions previously, we didn’t give too much thought to where we stayed, as long as we got a good deal! We’ve always preferred the onsite hotels purely for the fact that you can walk over to the parks within 10 – 15 minutes.

However, now we have a toddler with us we’re finding that we’re having to give a lot more thought to where we stay, how far away it is from the Parks and what other things there are to keep her occupied away from the rides and attractions! And that’s where Davy Crockett Ranch comes in!

The first thing you need if you are planning on staying here is a car! It’s located a 15-minute drive from the Disney Parks and it’s not served by the free shuttle buses that operate around the resort.

From a personal point of view and as a mother of a toddler, this option is great for our family. We get all the benefits of a Disney® Hotel combined with all the advantages of a self-catering holiday.

Accommodation at the ranch is in 2 bedroom cabins which have a double bedroom, a convertible sofa in the living area and a room with bunk beds.

There’s a bathroom with bath and the kitchen comes fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, hob, kettle, dishwasher and washing-up kit.

The cabins are divided in to different ‘areas’ with each small camp containing around 50-100 cabins – all with their own parking space so you can keep the car right by your accommodation.

What we like so much about Davy Crockett is that there are so many other things to do onsite (mostly free of charge!) which is ideal if you’re not going to be spending all your time at the parks. We wanted somewhere where she could have some space to run around and relax which is not entirely practical in a park full of thousands of people!

The swimmng pool is great with it’s tropical theme, waterfall and waterslide and the small farm is always a hit with the kids! Pony rides are available on certain days and the outdoor Indian Camp is also fun!

Depending on what you want to do in the evening, if you’re not at the Parks then Crockett’s Tavern is a great place to eat and the all you can eat buffet always goes down a treat! But the great thing about self-catering (and especially if the weather’s nice!) is that you could have a BBQ outside your cabin or enjoy a family meal inside.

We’ve found this mix ideal and enjoyed having the choice of cooking or eating out. The other advantage of having 2 bedroom accommodation is that when the kids go to bed, the adults can relax in the lounge area or enjoy a drink outside!

There is a shop onsite if you want to buy some food but there’s a Carrefour supermarket about 15 mins away at Bailly Romainvilliers if you plan on a bigger shop! You also get to see the Disney Characters here – just the same as at any of the other hotels!

One thing to note is that breakfast is no longer included at Davy Crockett Ranch. You can either pay for it directly onsite, buy your own and eat in the cabin – which is easy as you’ve got all the facilities anyway! Or, if you decide to go full or half board then breakfast is included anyway along with your lunch and/or evening meal.

If you’re driving to Disneyland Paris or have younger children then you should definitely consider this hotel – It’s got loads of things to do, offers decent accommodation and is pretty well priced alongside the other Disney Hotels. There’s generally an offer available so worth checking for discounts before you book!
